Shipping policy
At Kakawa Chocolate House, we make everything by hand and in small batches. We try to ship all orders as soon as possible, but sometimes, we just need to make things fresh for you! We apologize for any inconvenience, but give us a week's notice plus time for shipping and we can get almost anything to you. Below, is a list of our shipping policies:
We ship all domestic orders via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 business days).
Due to the delicate nature of our preservative-free, artisanal chocolates, we are unable to ship internationally.
We add a packaging fee of $4.95 to every order to cover a thermal liner and when needed a cooling pack to help protect the temperature of your order.
We want your chocolate to arrive fresh and un-melted so we cannot have packages in transit over the weekend. This means that we only ship Monday-Wednesday. (Please be advised: this can be a little difficult on holidays, such as Thanksgiving where, because the holiday falls on a Thursday, we can only ship Monday and Tuesday.)
It is advisable to have it shipped to a location where it can be received by a person. We do not recommend having an order delivered to your house to sit in the sun while you are away.
Please be sure to provide your email address with your order. This allows us to provide a confirmation and tracking number for your order. You will receive this automatically unless you do not provide your email.
We have very rarely had to deal with a lost package and only once encountered a melted chocolate situation, but if you feel that your package has been lost or arrived damaged, please let us know, and we will work through the details with you on a case by case basis.
